Your ultimate goal is to sell or create leads. The website is mostly your hub for all digital activities or content. A website helps you to get new customers. Your site should be built or designed in a way that a higher percent of users that visit your site becomes a customer. The process of converting users into consumers on your site is known as website optimization.

The conversion can mean different things depending on your nature of the business, it can be either registering a user or making a sale or something else.

6. Website Analytics

To perform website optimization, it is necessary for you to know the user behavior on your site and finding out things that are blocking a user from converting into your users. Website analytics is a mechanism to get data on who are the users visiting your site and their behavioral activities on the site. Once you know the behaviour you can find out changes that can help to improve conversion rate. Google Analytics is the most popular website analytics tool.

For e.g. While analyzing you can find out that a lot of users are adding the product to cart but are not going to the last stage of actual purchase. It will tell you that there is some issue in process of completing the purchase after adding to the cart.

7. Search Engine Marketing

SEM is another process of being present in front of a user when it is looking for you but through paid means. In Google or any search engine when you get the result of your query, you would find a lot of ads visible on top and on right side. To promote your product on a search for specific keywords by users is Search Engine marketing. Google Adwords is used to advertise on Google searches.

8. Email Marketing

One of the digital channels that have attained high ROI is email marketing. Two major advantages of email marketing are an increase in accessibility to emails because of smartphones and contacting your consumer by leaving a message with an attractive headline and giving them an option whether to open or not rather than bugging them with unnecessary calls. 9. Online Reputation Management 

One of the very unpopular but very essential terms in digital marketing is Online Reputation Management (ORM). As a brand, there is a lot of data related to your product or service all over the online space. To maintain the positive sensitivity and image of your brand on online space is ORM. It includes managing various online reviews like on Google and Facebook, web articles related to your brand, social media mention and comments, and more. 

10. Influencer/Affiliation Marketing 

A consumer is more convinced to use a product or service if a highly influential individual is talking about it or using it. Any individual or forum with a high following on social media is known as influencers. All the celebs and media pages like Buzzfeed are considered as influencers. Brands have started associating with these influencers to write or mention their product and to attain a higher reach on social media.
